1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Rehear (“Rehear,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Rehear mobile application, website, and related services.
Rehear is a singing-practice companion. It is not a medical service, and we ask that you do not submit medical records or other sensitive health information.
2. Information we handle
Recordings and analysis
When you request feedback, the app sends the selected short audio recording and exercise details to our analysis service. The service processes that recording to return measurements and practice feedback. We do not intentionally retain the uploaded audio after the analysis request finishes. Recordings you choose to save remain in app-owned storage on your device.
Practice and onboarding data
Your onboarding answers, routine preferences, progress, streaks, analysis results, and saved-recording references are stored locally on your device. Rehear does not currently provide a cloud account or cross-device backup for this information.
Coach messages
Messages you send to the Coach, along with limited practice context such as your current exercise and app language, are transmitted to our service and an AI service provider to generate a response. Do not include sensitive personal, health, or identifying information in Coach messages.
Purchases
Apple or Google processes subscription purchases. RevenueCat helps us manage subscription status and may receive purchase identifiers and related subscription information. We do not receive your complete payment-card number.
Permissions and device information
Rehear requests microphone access to record takes and notification access if you enable reminders. The app and its service providers may process basic technical information needed to deliver requests, such as app version, device platform, IP address, request timing, and error information.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- record, analyze, and compare practice takes;
- personalize exercises and practice feedback;
- provide Coach replies;
- save your local progress and preferences;
- verify and manage subscription access;
- protect the service from misuse and diagnose technical failures; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or use your voice recordings for advertising.
5. Storage and retention
Saved recordings and practice history remain on your device until you delete them, reset local data, uninstall the app, or the operating system removes the app’s data. Audio uploaded for analysis is held in temporary processing storage and deleted when the request completes.
Our providers may retain limited service, security, purchase, or diagnostic records according to their policies and legal obligations. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
6. Your choices and rights
- Microphone and notifications: Manage permissions in your device settings.
- Local data: Use “Delete local data” in Rehear Settings to remove saved progress and app-owned recordings from that device.
- Subscriptions: Manage or cancel through your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting local data does not cancel a subscription.
- Privacy request: Contact us to ask about access, deletion, or other rights that may apply in your location.
Because Rehear currently stores practice history locally without a user account, we may not be able to identify or recover data that exists only on your device.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
Rehear is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their country to consent to online services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information improperly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Rehear changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when required.
